hereafter called “[Turkish] RS”
it is agreed as follows:
Article 1. Background of this agreement
It is considered that:
§
The ERC is a scientific non-profit organization operating in
Europe with the mission of preserving life by promoting and
improving the practice of resuscitation. It is exclusive
owner of the denomination ERC and the related logo.
§
The [Turkish] RS is a scientific organization, active in the
field of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
§
Both parties intend to maintain and strengthen their
co-operation, with the purpose of enhancing their roles at
Turkey and European levels respectively.
Article 2. Agreement terms and conditions
-
MUTUAL RECOGNITION
a.
The ERC considers
the [Turkish] RS as the national body in Turkey,
representing all aspects relevant to the field of
resuscitation.
b.
The [Turkish] RS
accepts the ERC as the European organization representing
all national councils and major organizations in the field
of resuscitation.
c.
The ERC will
advise the [Turkish] RS on resuscitation matters. The
[Turkish] RS will inform the ERC on Turkish national
resuscitation matters. The ERC will direct all questions of
Turkish national relevance to the secretariat of the
[Turkish] RS.
d.
In its relation with the [Turkish] RS, the ERC recognises
that there can be national historic and legal aspects of
resuscitation training and practice. Any possible deviations
will be presented to and discussed with the ERC.

TRANSLATION & INFORMATION EXCHANGE
a.
The [Turkish] RS
agrees to assist in the translation of guidelines and other
documents from ERC that are originally in English to Turkish
language.
b.
The [Turkish] RS
agrees to contribute Turkey’s national information to the
ERC for publication on the ERC website, if such information
contains information of national or European relevance.
c.
The [Turkish] RS
agrees to publish ERC information on the [Turkish] Rs’s
website, in the national Turkish language, upon request from
the ERC, if such information contains information of
national or European relevance.

PUBLICATION AND DISTRIBUTION
a.
The [Turkish] RS
will work towards an agreement with the ERC for the
publication and distribution of ERC publications and
teaching materials for Turkey as required. In the absence
of such agreement, the [Turkish] RS will not
undertake any steps to translate, print, publish, or
distribute any ERC materials.
b.
Requests for the
Turkish national teaching and other resuscitation materials
to bear the ERC logo and/or the wording: “approved by the
ERC”, “recommended by the ERC”, or such like, must be sent
to the ERC for prior approval.

ADOPTION OF GUIDELINES
a.
The [Turkish] RS
will adopt the ERC clinical and teaching guidelines in its
resuscitation training initiatives in Turkey. All [Turkish]
RS training materials will be conform with the ERC
guidelines and recommendations

RECOGNITION OF TRAINING NETWORK AND ORGANISATION OF
COURSES
-
The
ERC and the [Turkish] RS will work closely together in
order to realize a Turkish training network which is in
line with the ERC European training network standards,
and which can be recognized by the ERC as such.

The ERC will collaborate with the [Turkish] RS to
achieve consistency in courses and teaching materials.
-
All adult BLS, AED, ALS and PLS provider and instructor
[Turkish] RS courses will be performed according to ERC
guidelines, course content and programme.
To achieve this accordance, the organisation of the
aforesaid [Turkish] RS courses will be regulated through a
separate ERC-[Turkish] RS working agreement, which will deal
with all course related aspects, including but not limited
to:

practical organisation of the course
-
course materials
-
course directorate
-
instructor eligibility in line with the ERC system
-
candidate eligibility
-
assessment and certification
-
recertification
d. To
ensure quality of training throughout Europe, the [Turkish]
RS will allow the ERC to audit their courses and to provide
support and advice as judged appropriate by the ERC.

NON-COMPETITION CLAUSE
a.
The ERC will
promote collaboration with the [Turkish] RS by conducting
courses in Turkey only if requested through the [Turkish]
RS.
b.
In case the ERC
would receive a formal request from a third party, located
in Turkey, including but not limited to any requests for:

formal accreditation
·
supporting of CPR training initiatives in Turkey
·
any other contractual agreement
then the ERC will seek the approval from the [Turkish] RS
before proceeding with the third party’s request.

OFFICIAL RECOGNITION OF THE [Turkish] RS
The ERC recognizes the [Turkish] RS as an “ERC
collaborating council” working by reciprocal
collaboration to promote high quality resuscitation
practice and education in Europe.
This agreement is dated September 15, 2003
It is valid for five years following this date.
It is renewable by mutual agreement.
